Auto Insurance

Klug Insurance provides auto, motorcycle, mopeds, motor homes and classic car coverage through our carriers. We offer several options when it comes to insuring your autos or recreational vehicle.

Below are brief explanations of common terms in the Auto insurance marketplace.

Types of Coverage

Liability Coverage

If you or someone driving your vehicle is responsible for a serious auto accident, you want to be certain you have as much liability protection as possible in order to protect your personal assets. Most insurance carriers offer up to $1 million of liability coverage.

Medical Payments

This coverage pays for health care costs regardless of who has been assigned fault.

Collision Coverage

This coverage protects your vehicle when it is involved in an accident when you are at fault. In most cases this is what people would refer to as full coverage when paired with liability and comprehensive coverage. Collision protects your vehicle up to its actual cash value (book value) at the time of a covered claim.

Comprehensive Coverage

Comprehensive protects your vehicle for damages caused by hail, fire, theft, vandalism, glass breakage, striking an animal and certain other types of non-collision damage. Comprehensive coverage protects your vehicle up to its actual cash value (book value) at the time of a covered claim.

Personal Umbrella Coverage

A type of insurance policy that provides excess coverage above and beyond the liability coverage amounts in a standard insurance policy. The umbrella policy provides extra protection in the event that a lawsuit exceeds the basic level of coverage in the standard policy.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Protection

This important coverage protects you against the person who does not purchase auto insurance nor has inadequate liability limits. Although the State of Iowa requires auto insurance, not everyone carries it. Should an uninsured/underinsured motorist hit your vehicle and cause injury to you and/or your passengers, it is the uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage that protects you.

Roadside Assistance

Our insurance carriers offer emergency roadside assistance if your vehicle becomes disabled. This assistance may include towing, tire repair, fuel delivery, battery jump starts, and lock outs.

Transportation Expenses

Covers transportation expenses that are incurred as a result of a comprehensive or collision claim.
